In the days before technology, it’s not uncommon to leave letters for your loved ones (or enemies, depending on your perversity) when one is gone. Dead. Kaput-ed.

Today, not only can we offer our condolences online, we can also send an email to our loved ones after we die. You can do this at the Last Messages Club. According to information on its site, you can leave any messages you like – including birthday and/or anniversary greetings – for whoever you like, before you’re dead of course, which can then be sent out to the designated person.

Technology leaves no stones unturned.

You see kids of all ages play it. I used to play it too. I’m talking about Nintendo’s Game Boy gaming console, which is turning 20 this year.

I am too old have have had one of these in my childhood, but it gave me my fair share of entertainment in my teens and twenties. I first came in touch with Nintendo was its Super Famicom console. My parents had bought that for my brother as a reward for good results.

The two of us had endless hours of fun on that thing, playing NBA basketball (yes, you can be Michael Jordan even then), and of course, my favourite of all time – Street Fighter. I tried my hands at Mario Brothers and Donkey Kong, two classic Nintendo games, but I suck. So I stuck to what I did best.

Which, of course, include Tetris. I should add that my grandfather was not too bad on that game too!

This is the Independent’s Top 10 Classic Nintendo Games, what’s yours?
